I've been wanting to do this little project for ages now. So let's get started :)
Picture Frame Dry Erase Board |
Supplies:
- Big picture frame (at least big enough so you have space to doodle on)
- Scrapbook paper
- Finishing details (I'm using glitter stickers and accents found at Michaels Craft store)
- Glue (super glue is faster than regular craft glue as I found out)
- Scissors or paper cutter
- Dry erase marker
Fit your chosen scrapbook paper to the frame and cut. You may need to trim it a little. This is where the paper cutter came in super handy! Found this one at Joann's for a great price ( Cricut paper trimmer)
The great thing about this dry erase board is that you can instantly change out the look of the background since it is a picture frame. The options are endless! |
Since my scrapbook paper was a little short for the entire frame I decided to seat it along the bottom.
Now you can add the details to really personalize your project:
I like to "dry fit" everything before even thinking about using adhesive. |
Now carefully glue the details onto the frame. I stuck the glitter stickers right on the glass in the area at the top to fill in that empty white space. The flare corner details took a little bit of time. After first trying craft glue to stick the cardboard accents on, I switched to gel super glue. That shnick is so awesome and fast! Unlike regular super glue it doesn't ooze everywhere. Since it's a gel it'll stay in the area you direct it to.
All you have to do now is prop it up and write out your thoughts for the day/week/month or whatever!!! :)
Say "No!" to boring white boards! |
Have fun crafting it up!!!
what a fun project!! :) your DIY dry erase board came out so awesome!
