Nautical

Open back

Action shot
New sandals!

Ready to jump!

Can't forget the little details...Sail boat earrings!
Finally wore my new shirt out today!  It looks a little nautical so I decided to pair it with my sail boat earrings and a real working clock necklace (kind of looks like a compass).  Found the shirt at a great store in the Topanga Mall a few weeks ago called Q.  Can't wait to go back some day soon!

Also bought a new phone today, the HTC One 4G.  It's so much lighter and faster than my old HTC myTouch slide 3G.  The camera is the main reason I bought it.  No shutter lag and HD 1080p video camera!  It has a slow mo option that I can't wait to try out!!

Love the quality of this new camera phone :)

Part of Something Bigger

He had to be discharged before he could reenlist.

Standing by my man :)

I even got my very own certificate of appreciation!

Reenlisted + a flag!

"I love me" plaque.

I took part in something bigger than myself today.  My love reenlisted this morning and asked me to be part of his ceremony.  It was nerve wracking and gratifying all at the same time.  Makes me so fortunate to be part of such a big moment in his life.  He makes me so proud and some days I can't even believe we've made it through so much together (2 deployments, countless field exercises, school and last minute change of plans).  Can't wait to marry this man!

Accessories:
Shells

The flash kind of blurred out the details of the shells but I get a new phone with  an amazing camera tomorrow so hopefully my photog skills get an upgrade!

Getting Serious

Puppy sandwich!
Ran the dog this morning (3:45am before work)!  This past weekend made me realize I need to get serious about getting healthy.  Not just to fit into my wedding dress and look amazing but to be smarter about what I do and eat.  I've been slacking for too many years now.  It HAS to stop.  So here we go :)

Kit # 1

Coconut, Peach, Red Berry and straight up vodka :)

I <3 my co-workers.  One gave me a kit this week to help build up my tolerance before my wedding in November!  As of now I get full blown tipsy off of a shot glass of any hard liquor.  It's quite embarrassing.  So this week is vodka and next is rum....yummmm!

View from the front

Sights from my front yard.  It's a work in progress!

Wind chime from PCH.  They always sucker me into buying random stuff!!

Trying non-floral plants this year

Love the color combos

Took me awhile to get this shot but the wait was totally worth it!

Tropical flower that seems to bloom all year :)  It's amazing I haven't killed this beautiful plant yet!

Side note:
Blue had 2 fox tails stuck in her left ear :(  She had to be sedated for the doc to pull them out.  This is her drugged look!
Using the couch to hold up her head!

Sad drugged puppy!

DIY Paper Roses

Felt crafty!  Made some water colored paper roses.

Blue water color & white paper

All the supplies!
Supply list:
-Regular white printer paper
-Scissors
-Skinny paint brush
-Heart paper punch (Big heart punch <3)
-Wooden floral stems with wire attached (joann fabrics)
-Optional: water color paint

First punch out 8 hearts.  Trim down the first four into progressively smaller ovals.  Unwrap the wire from the stem and pierce the smallest petal with the wire.

Wrap the petal completely around the stem and then wrap wire around to hold it in place.  You can also use a dab of glue to keep things in place.  I find it a little too messy for my taste.  The wire seems sufficient enough.  Repeat this for the remaining small petals you just trimmed.

For the rest of the petals you need to curl the top of the heart portions as shown above.  Using a skinny paint brush works perfectly for this task.

Then fold the heart in half to give it a little more shape.

This is what the remaining petals should look like before you attach them.

Continue piercing each petal with the wire and then wrapping the petal around the stem.  Try to stagger the petals to give a more full realistic look.  Wrap the wire around the petals as you go to hold things into place.

You can also use patterned paper!
